As a step in China's large-scale gigawatt agreement, GE will supply what corresponds to the sum of all the US manufacturer's deliveries last year to the Chinese market.

US wind turbine manufacturer GE has secured two Chinese orders for a total of 199.5 MW. The projects, which are both located in the northern Hebei province surrounding Beijing, will be equipped with 54 of GE's 2.75 MW turbines and 27 of the slightly smaller 1.85 MW turbines, announces GE in a statement.

The order seems to be the largest that GE has ever been awarded in China. Similar to other turbine manufacturers from the western hemisphere, GE has struggled to find its footing in the Chinese market. Last year, the US manufacturer was the third-largest foreign player, after Vestas and Gamesa, with installations of a total 205 MW.
