Siemens Gamesa in Denmark hit by major strike

The firing of a joint union delegate has triggered a strike among service technicians and electricians at Siemens Gamesa Danmark.

Discontent over the layoff of a union delegate has prompted strikes Wednesday and Thursday among Danish employees of wind turbine major Siemens Gamesa.

Wednesday, around 200 service technicians at Siemens Gamesa's offshore division stopped work and Thursday saw the strike grow to include workers at Siemens Gamesa's facilities in the Danish cities Lindø, Tingle, HI-Park in Herning, Esbjerg, and Ølgod, sources tell EnergyWatch.
