
Civil engineer Henrik Thomsen from Energinet, the Danish grid operator, is knee-deep in complicated calculations involving thousands of variables.
He is calculating whether the state can justify the construction of a huge artificial island in the in the middle of the North Sea, connecting it with huge electricity cables to the surrounding countries and constructing several thousand wind turbines around it, reports Danish radio program DR P4 Trekanten.
