Russian company considers buying turbine manufacturer

Rosatom, which will install approximately 1 GW of wind in its homeland, is exploring the possibility of constructing its own turbines and battling with Siemens Gamesa and Vestas on a huge growth market.

Russian nuclear power company Rosatom seems to be intensifying its participation in the wind industry. In the first two tenders in its homeland, the state-owned company won projects for 970 MW and is now directing its gaze towards an acquisition of Indian wind turbine manufacturer Inox via subsidiary Otek. An acquisition which will also bring Rosatom into the large-scale Indian wind market.
