GE has won an order in Pakistan for 150 MW. GE writes that the wind turbine manufacturer will supply 87 turbines from the GE 1.7-103 series to a project in the Jhimpir region of the Pakistani province Sindh. Beyond the machinery, the parties have signed a 10-year service deal.
"We are setting up the largest wind project which will feed the Pakistani national grid benefiting all sections of the community – households, cities, villages and industries. Pakistan has tremendous potential for wind energy," says Nadeem Abdullah, CEO of Sapphire Wind Power Company Limited.
