Nordex joins the 4 MW club

The German wind turbine manufacturer is increasing in size and launching a new turbine series with capacity of up to 4.5 MW. One factor leading up to this development was a Danish acquisition.

Germany's Nordex is launching a new series of wind turbines with capacity in the range of 4 to 4.5 MW, announces Nordex.

The turbines are based on the manufacturer's Delta platform, in which the blade span has been extended 18 meters to a rotor diameter of 149. The most powerful version will see energy production increased 28 percent relative to the German firm's N131/3600 turbine.
