
Senvion has entered a framework deal with Chinese firm CRRC Zhuzhou Electric. The Chinese company, which is a subsidiary of the state-owned conglomerate CRRC, will be manufacturing generators for the German turbine manufacturer's 3 MW platform, reports Senvion in a press release.
"As one of the major wind industry players worldwide, efficient purchasing deals that create scale effects whilst ensuring highest quality are strategically crucial steps towards a more optimized technology. With this cooperation together with CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd for generators, that will power our 3.XM series turbine of the future at the best conditions, Senvion will reach the next step of our goals," says Senvion CEO Jürgen Geissinger.
