Ørsted management knew of potential name dispute five days before decision

Five days before shareholders at the then-Dong Energy voted to change the company's name to Ørsted, management received an objection from the lawyer to the Ørsted family, reports Danish media Børsen.

While management at the then-Dong Energy was aware that the descendants of renowned Danish scientist Hans Christian Ørsted were against the company's adoption of the name, it did not choose to inform shareholders, reports Danish newspaper Børsen.
