The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, the largest in Europe, has set about bringing two reactors back online after shutting them down Thursday, states the governor of Zaporizhzhia.

The reactors, which are the only two still in operation at the site, were brought offline after a fire damaged nearby power lines.

The nuclear power plant was subsequently uncoupled from the Ukrainian electric grid.

On Thursday, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported to be ”very, very close to” sending a delegation of experts to the site.

French President Emmanuel Macron also reiterated Thursday an appeal for the IAEA to visit the plant.

It was taken over by Russian forces in March.

In recent weeks, intensifying skirmishes in the area surrounding the nuclear power plant have stoked concerns, with the UN warning of a potential nuclear disaster.
