US announces new offshore wind auction – Ørsted will not participate

Seabed with a potential of up to 6.3GW of offshore wind will be auctioned in August. Bidders can get a discount for helping fishermen and supporting training programs and local supply chains.

On Aug. 14, the United States will hold its next offshore wind auction. Two lease areas totaling 1,125 km2 off the states of Delaware and Maryland will be put up for tender and are expected to have enough space for the construction of 6.3GW of offshore wind.
