Vestas has received an order for a combined capacity of 219 MW from the US, the manufacturer reports in a statement on Wednesday morning.
The agreement pertains to two projects, one of which entails 26 model V150-4.2 MW units, with the other set to deploy 22 machines of the same model.
All turbines will be optimized to 4.3 MW, Vestas writes.
The customer name is undisclosed, but the media release does mention that a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement is attached to the contract.
Delivery is set to begin in Q2 and Q3 of next year, with commissioning planned for the same quarters.
"This order builds on the success that the V150-4.2 MW wind turbine has had both in the USA and globally and cements its position as one of the most applicable large wind turbines in the market," writes Jeff Fuchs, vice president of sales for Vestas in North America, in the press release.
