Ørsted CEO after NY rejection: Extremely challenged

Although no decision has been made, the possibility of building Sunrise Wind looks very difficult after the state rejection, says David Hardy.

In late summer, Ørsted believed that its dialog with New York about higher payments for the Sunrise Wind project looked fruitful. Nevertheless, on Thursday, the New York State Public Service Commission (NYPSC) unanimously rejected the Danish energy company’s request for more money.
