On Friday, Vestas secured a total of nine orders, the last of which was placed just before midnight and is a repowering order of 84 megawatts, MW, from an undisclosed customer in the US.

Repowering means upgrading an existing wind farm with newer, more powerful and more efficient wind turbines.

Including Friday’s flood of orders, the Danish manufacturer has added a total of 830 megawatts to its order book this quarter.

One of the orders is for 95 MW, with an associated 30-year service agreement, AOM 5000, in Argentina. The order includes 21 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines to be delivered in the second quarter of 2025 and is expected to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of the same year.

There was also an order for 63 megawatts, MW, from customers Kangal Energy, Is Portfoy Infrastructure VCIF and Is Portfoy Renewable Energy VCIF for the expansion of five existing wind farms in Turkey.

In Turkey, a 45 MW deal was also signed earlier on Friday, which includes the supply and installation of 10 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines and a 15-year AOM 4000 service agreement.

Aquila Clean Energy in Lithuania was also ready with an order list for Vestas and has placed an order for 99 megawatts, MW, where the contract includes 35 years of full service, AOM 5000.

A wind farm in Western Cape Town is also interested in Vestas turbines and on Friday placed an order for 144 MW, where the Danish wind turbine group will supply 32 V163-4.5 MW turbines to African Clean Energy Development.

Earlier in the day, orders were also received from Scotland and Germany.
